Stairs and elevators
The floor at each end, and whether it is a walk-up, an elevator building or a doorman high-rise. Tell us about any elevator bookings too.
Anything fragile
Art, glass, marble or other pieces that need special care. Glass items go into separate boxes, and fine art has its own service with specialist packing.
Building rules
Some buildings require a certificate of insurance from the mover. Check with building management at both addresses and tell us when you book. A fee may apply, depending on the building’s requirements.

We look at the move
We go through the addresses, the date and what is moving, and ask about anything that changes the job, like stairs, elevators or fragile pieces.

The estimate is free. Our hourly rates are straightforward, and packing supplies are charged only if required and listed on your estimate.
Payment, licensing and claims
How to pay
We accept cash, bank checks, company checks, and major credit cards such as Visa, Mastercard, Discover and American Express. Personal checks are not accepted.
Licensed and insured
USDOT 3453789 and MC 1125197. Every licensed carrier is required to carry moving, cargo and liability insurance.
If something goes wrong

The crew and the truck
We run and own our own fleet, and every mover on it is screened before they work for us.
Screened, trained movers
Our movers are well-trained and caring. All of them are thoroughly screened and vetted, and we require intensive training so everyone on your team knows our best practices.
A clean, inspected truck
Every truck is thoroughly inspected and professionally cleaned daily. We run a 24-foot and a 28-foot truck, both winter-ready, with a lift gate, a camera and safety equipment.
Your things wrapped
Furniture is wrapped with shrink wrap and blankets, floors, corners and hallways are protected, and essential furniture is taken apart and put back together.
A few things to sort before the crew arrives
None of this is hard, but every item saves time on the day. If you are unsure about any of it, call and ask.
Changes to the list
If you are adding items or services, tell us at least 3 business days before pickup. If the amount changes on the day, the foreman may offer a revised estimate listing all costs, and you should agree to it in writing before anything is loaded.
Parking at both ends
Confirm parking restrictions with the building management or the local police at the current and the new address. If the truck cannot park close enough, long carry or shuttle truck charges apply.
Appliances and utilities
Turn off your appliances and utilities and disconnect them from electric, gas and water before moving day. We do not disconnect or reconnect them on the day.
Mattresses and bags
For health and sanitary reasons, mattresses, box springs and futon pads must be protected in a mattress box or a plastic cover. Personal items in loose plastic bags are not allowed on the truck.
Moving services start once you have signed the contract for service, the Bill of Lading.
